June 30 It was going to happen eventuallyWhen I first got wind of this game, I began to froth a bit for a PS3. But hey, Sony hasn't even announced a release date on their PlayStation website. Kingdom Hearts 3 could be out by then, and I will sell a kidney if I have to in order to obtain console and game. Either way, we're talking about end of this year, early next year at the earliest. Plenty of time to wait. And hopefully wait for a price decrease. Come onnnn, holiday season!! Then I made the mistake of stumbling upon Playstation.com's blog, and discovered the beauty of Heavenly Sword. It's not released yet either, but it has a definite release date of September 4, 2007. That's really soon. I must have a job by then so that I can spend my first paycheck on a glorious new gaming system and game. And here I thought that my next gaming system was going to be the Xbox 360. June 23 Monotony... it's a bitchI've been moving right along in KH2 Final Mix Re: Chain of Memories, but, as what happened the last time I got this far, I'm bored. The formula is just tiring. Open a new floor, open all the rooms with sad attempts to mix things up with different room cards, run through the story rooms, fight the floor boss, leave the floor, fight someone from Organization XIII, rinse and repeat. The battle style is getting tiring as well. Hunting down new battle cards, trying to find a high level cure card, hi-potion card, or attack card has a ridiculous Pokemon feel. Of course what really doesn't help is that I'm two floors away from beating it Sora-side so that means running through previous floors to open up Key to Rewards rooms and level up Sora so that Riku 4 doesn't waste him in two Dark Aura attacks. God how I hated those. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz I thought that the 3D style of play would keep me more intrigued, but it really doesn't. A monotonous formula is a monotonous formula, no matter what wacky hijinx you add. Sooooo I doubt I'll abandon it entirely. It's probably just time to look at something else for awhile. I still have plenty of KH2 fun to get through. Not to mention that I have a Wii game I haven't even opened yet. Then there's Zelda... so um, I have X-Men Legends and X-Men Legends 2 as well. Better get through one of them before the Order of the Phoenix comes out or I get a job. June 13 Puzzle Quest is giving me carpal tunnelOddly enough, one would think that being jobless would make me have one of my PS2s running some form of Kingdom Hearts for hours on end until I had either learned fluent Japanese or started a small circuit fire, but actually, both have remained turned off. Instead, I'm abusing my DVD player all day with my Scrubs seasons boxsets while I look for jobs, play with my main website, and force myself to write that fantasy novel I always talk about. But when my butt gets tired of sitting in front of my laptop, I move over to the other couch and play Puzzle Quest on the DS until my hand cramps up. I admit that I really suck at this game. I blame that on the fact that my opponent always seems to get lucky breaks. How come when I clear a column, three skulls in a row never drop down for me? Despite my lack of luck and complete suckage, I can't stop playing (until my hand cramps, as I previously mentioned). I'm sure that my party is planning my demise in my sleep, as instead of continuing on the main quest, I'm off capturing new mounts (I have a wolf now!), capturing demons to study their spells, training my mounts, and searching for runes. I say it's great for leveling up, but I like trying out the different puzzle games the game has to offer. However, if my suckage continues, I may have to lower the difficulty level to easy. I can only hope it lowers the luck factor for the enemy. That and I need to learn a "block regeneration" spell. |
